Miss Laurene

Laurene Aldorisio, Owner/Director/Instructor has an Associate’s Degree in Dance from Dean College and a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Dance from Roger Williams University. She also studied at the well renowned Philadelphia University of Arts as a ballet major where her training was with very famous ballet professionals from the Philadelphia Ballet. She also studied with Edra Toth, principal Ballerina of the famous Boston Ballet.  She received tap training with the well known LaVaugn Robinson who taught Gregory Hines. She trained in modern dance at Jacob’s Pillow with Milton Myers and Judith Jamison, both instructors/directors with the Alvin Ailey Dance Company. Laurene is a member of the Dance Masters of America whose members are certified by practical and written exams to qualify to teach.  She has been teaching for over 20 years and continues to educate herself by attending workshops through Dance Olympus, Dance Masters of America to add to her repertoire.  This past February Laurene trained with the current hit show “So You Think You Can Dance” choreographers, Mia Michaels, Desmond Richardson, Brian Friedman, Chris Judd, Dave Scott and Tyce Diorio.  Laurene loves working with children of all ages and her greatest reward is sharing her love of dance by inspiring students to express themselves through movement.

 

Miss Kerri

 

 

Kerri has performed and competed throughout the United States.  Kerri received her A.S from Dean College and during that time she was a dancer with a ballet company in Boston and toured the state performing professionally.  Kerri continued her education receiving her B.A. from the University of South Florida where she furthered her training in Ballet, Pointe, Modern, African Dance, Cultural Dance, Choreography and Dance History.  Kerri had the joy of working with Nina Watts who was one of the original company members of the famous choreographer Jose Limone.  Most recently, Kerri performed for an up-coming artist as a backup dancer at the Comcast Center for the "Kiss 108" Concert.  In addition, she has choreographed for private magnet schools and has won several choreography awards during her time as an educator.  Kerri continues her education by taking workshops through Dance Masters of America and is always eager to continue with her professional dance career.  Kerri is proud to work with children who share the passion of dance and enjoys passing her knowledge and enthusiasm on to other dancers.  Dance Expressions is pleased to welcome Miss Kerri back to the studio!

 

Miss Jenna

 

 

Jenna Clozzi has been dancing since the age of three and has trained at the Atwood Performing Arts Center in Cranston RI. Jenna has a wealth of experience in varied dance genres including ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary and hip hop. She furthered her dance education at Dean College in Franklin, MA where she received her B.A. in Dance. Jenna was a member of several companies including tap, modern, jazz and ballet. She performed and choreographed pieces in Cabaret, Choreographers Showcase and Dance Composition shows during all four years at Dean. As a choreographer, Jenna has extensive experience with dancers of all ages, creating pieces and instructing classes throughout her high school and college years. During her last two years in college, Jenna was chosen to lead the Dean College Dance Team in the role of President. She was awarded the Outstanding Leadership Award for the class of 2012 and was chosen to receive membership in the Who's Who Among American Students, 2012 Society. Jenna is currently performing with the up and coming singing group, Body Lingo, and will be touring with them throughout New England and other areas on the east coast in the summer of 2012. She is a member of a contemporary jazz company as well, Impact, of Cambridge, MA. Jenna is thrilled to be teaching the talented students of Dance Expressions.

 

Miss Chelsea

 

 

Chelsea Zawadzki received her B.A. in dance from Dean College in 2012. Before attending Dean, she danced with the Robinson Ballet Company in Bangor, ME, touring Maine and New Hampshire in “The Nutcracker” and an annual spring performance. While at Dean, Chelsea furthered her training in ballet, pointe, jazz, modern, tap, and hip-hop, and was also a member of the Dean College Dance Company. She performed in several faculty and student choreographed shows. In August 2012, Chelsea attended Silicon Valley’s International Dance Festival, where she trained and performed with contemporary, modern, tap, and Irish set choreographers from New York and the San Francisco area. Chelsea is currently a dancer with Adagio Big Band, a jazz band based out of Lowell, MA that performs around the Lowell and Worcester areas at dinner theaters, sporting events, and the annual “Merrimack Valley Jazz Festival.” She is also a dancer with Boston Urban Ballet, where she appeared in the 2012 production of Tony Williams’ “Urban Nutcracker” in Boston. Chelsea loves to share her passion for dance with others, and teaches throughout Massachusetts.

 

Miss Olivia

 

 

Olivia Oro is a junior at Dean College, where she is working on her BA in Dance, with a minor in Psychology. Olivia began her dance training at a local studio at age 3; she has studied ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, modern, and acrobatics. Before attending Dean College in 2010, Olivia studied with Erica Jamieson and Jacklyn Tabor. In 2011, Olivia attended the Alvin Ailey Dance Theatre's professional level summer program in New York and in May 2012, she performed in Strange Invisible Perfume, choreographed by Gregory King, at the National College Dance Festival at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.

 

Miss Sue

 

 

Sue Savage has a wealth of training and experience she brings to Dance Expressions. She has a BA degree and a Master’s Degree in Education with a concentration in Health. She owned her own dance studio, Sue Scheffler’s Dance Studio, in Auburn, MA for 15 years, was a Senior Staff Dance Teacher at Charlotte Klein Dance Centers and a Dance Instructor at Our Lady of Mercy Center for Exceptional Children in Worcester, MA. She was a fitness and aerobics instructor at Worcester Fitness and was the Director of Health and Fitness at Southgate, Shrewsbury, MA. Sue is a certified nutritionist and personal trainer, with wellness certifications in aerobics, yoga, Pilates, and a CES-Certified Health Education Specialist. Sue is a certified dance teacher from Dance Masters of America with membership in the Dance Teachers’ Club of Boston and the Worcester Ballet Society. Sue has taught ballet, jazz, pointe and tap throughout her dance teaching experience. Sue was recently awarded the Maria Montessori Award for her extraordinary volunteerism at Summit Montessori as the chairman of the Parents Association. Sue has a passion for service to the community. Her leadership, work, wisdom, perseverance and smiles bring much enthusiasm as co-director of the Dance Expressions Performance Group. Sue is elated to be teaching very young dance students and adults this year for Dance Expressions as well as co-directing our Performance group and acting as the competition coach for Dance Expressions Dance Company and Dance Teams.

 

Miss Meghan

 

 

Meghan Anderson is an enthusiastic and energetic choreographer, teacher and performer. Meghan began studying dance at the early age of two and has recently graduated at the top of her class from Dean College, earning her Bachelor’s degree in dance. Meghan has studied numerous styles of dance including ballet, pointe, contemporary, jazz, modern, and tap under the direction of teachers such as Jill Silverman, Bryan Steele, Kat Nasti, Tracee Stanfield and many more. Meghan has won numerous scholarships and awards as a dancer and her choreography has been recognized for its originality and creativity.


Meghan is currently a dancer for Boston’s leading Contemporary Dance Company, Urbanity Dance. Since joining the company in 2012, Meghan has been featured as a soloist and has been selected to perform at such prestigious theatres as the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre in NYC. Under the direction of Artistic Director, Betsi Graves, Meghan continues to grow as an artist and performer, allowing her to bring firsthand experience and the latest in dance to all of her students.


Meghan prides herself on providing high energy, challenging and creative classes within a safe and nurturing classroom. Her experiences as a dancer and performer allow Meghan to prepare her students for their own futures as professional level dancers. Her charismatic personality and teaching style encourages her students to be themselves and to take pride in their own spirit and accomplishments in and out of the studio.
 

 

 

DANCE EXPRESSIONS PHILOSOPHIES AND GOALS

We strive to provide our students with quality dance instruction in a nurturing and friendly stress-free dance environment.

 

Our professional dance instructors are above all educators who focus on producing dancers that are poised, confident along with high self-esteem.

 

Dance technique is very important to Miss Laurene, our Director, and as such , dance students receive quality technique training from September through the end of each December, and not until January do they begin to focus and learn their dance performance choreography

 

The Academy of Dance Expressions offers dance classes for students ages 3 - adults for beginners to advanced levels.

 

Our students are placed based on their age, their experience and training as well as their skill and maturity levels.  

Competition Eligibility

Students who wish to participate at selective dance competitions must be enrolled in a program of 3 or more hours weekly in a ballet class, that is,  (2) hour and a half ballet classes.
