Create, Play & Dance

Offered to girls and boys, ages 2.5 to 4 years old to introduce and explore with them music, movement, basic motor skills through dance and play.  We will create movement using our imagination with the use of materials from our studio.  This is a wonderful opportunity for your child to build their social skills.

Pre-Ballet/Tap
Offered to children at the age of 3 to introduce them to music, singing, rhythms, counting, and their basic motor skills through the art forms of ballet and tap. The child will learn how to interact in a social environment, as well as develop basic manners and discipline with oneself in a class.

Pre-School
Offered to children at the age of 4 to develop an ear for music and rhythms, combining a singing voice and dance movements through ballet and tap. The goal is to enable a child to gain basic motor skills, develop coordination with a sense of confidence, and socially interact with other children.

Kinderdance

Dance Expressions

Available to students at age 6.  This class is a combination class of ballet and tap and also introduces the student to jazz techniques.

Ballet

A technical form of dance which is the basis of all dance. It allows the student to develop balance, control, poise, strength, muscle tone, body placement, and turn-out.

Pointe
Offered to students who are at least 12 years old and who have acquired balance and strength from a minimum of three years of ballet classes based on 3 hours per week.

Jazz
A freestyle form of dance that encourages a student's flexibility, precision, rhythm, freedom, and self-expression felt through various types of music.

Hip-Hop

This style dance is an off shoot of jazz combined with street and funk dance which makes it lots of fun, exhilarating, and upbeat. It offers a technical warm-up that focuses on body isolations and strong articulations.

Modern
Offered to students who are 11 years old.
An intense, creative form of dance that requires freedom of expression, emphasizes movement, and uses both symmetrical and asymmetrical styles to develop dynamics, communication, and individualism, while allowing a student to release and contract, as well as change direction.

Tap
A form of dance wherein rhythmic sounds are created by the feet both with or without music. It develops a student's ability to experiment with one's own creativity while producing rhythms with the feet.

NEW for 2012-2013:

Acro Dance

An emerging and popular form of dance that includes acrobatic movement. It's where the dancer adds rhythm in time to the music with true dance steps. This style of dance tests the limits of human movement to music and takes acrobatic skills and fits them into a dance interpretation of music.

Contemporary Dance

A very popular dance style that is trending in the dance world. It's where a dancer takes their ballet and modern foundation and applies it to their own touch of creative freedom within their movement. What makes this style so sought after is that it allows the dancer to explore the natural energy and emotions to produce dances that are often very personal and emotional. This dance often involves a great deal of playing with balance, floor work, fall and recovery and improvisation.

Lyrical Dance

A dance style that blends ballet and jazz dance and tends to be smoother and a bit faster than ballet and yet not as fast as jazz. It uses movement to  express strong emotions such as love, joy and anger. Movements in lyrical dance are characterized by fluidity and grace with the dancer flowing seamlessly from one move to another. The lyrics of a song serve as an inspiration for movements and expressions.

Boys Hip-Hop (ages 8-10)

This style dance is an off shoot of jazz combined with street and funk dance which makes it lots of fun, exhilarating, and upbeat. It offers a technical warm-up that focuses on body isolations and strong articulations.
